Odisha Matric Exams 2026: 5.6 Lakh Students, CCTV at Centres

The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha will commence the Matriculation (High School Certificate - HSC) examinations from February 19, 2026, with 5,61,979 students set to appear across the state. This year’s examinations will be conducted at 3,082 centres, with authorities making elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth and transparent proceedings.

CCTV Surveillance at All Examination Centres

In a major step towards maintaining transparency and preventing malpractice, the Board has installed CCTV cameras at all examination centres. Officials confirmed that live monitoring will be carried out from a central command and control room, enabling real-time supervision of the examination process. The move aims to create a fair, inclusive, and stress-free environment for candidates appearing in the Odisha Matric exams. The enhanced surveillance mechanism reflects the Board’s commitment to ensuring integrity and discipline during the conduct of examinations.

Expert Welcomes CBSE Supplementary Policy

Amid discussions on exam-related stress, educationist R. N. Panda welcomed the supplementary examination policy introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), describing it as a student-friendly initiative. Under the CBSE policy, students who do not perform well in subjects such as English, Science, Social Studies, and Languages are given an opportunity to appear for supplementary examinations. Improved scores are then reflected in the final result, offering students a second chance to enhance their academic performance. Education experts believe such measures can help reduce stress and promote a more supportive evaluation system.

Advisory for Students

Teachers and lecturers have advised students to remain calm, focused, and confident during the examination period. Candidates have been encouraged to:

  • Follow a disciplined study routine
  • Ensure adequate rest and sleep
  • Avoid unnecessary stress and distractions

With comprehensive administrative arrangements and technological monitoring in place, officials have expressed confidence that the Odisha HSC examinations 2026 will be conducted smoothly and efficiently across all centres in the state.
