Odisha CHSE Plus Two Exams 2027: New Rule for Ex-Regular Students

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has approved a major change for CHSE Plus Two ex-regular students. Under the new rule, ex-regular candidates will also have to appear for the internal examination, with the provision coming into effect from 2027. The decision was announced on August 29, 2026.

The new Odisha CHSE Plus Two exam rule 2027 will also provide a three-year validity period for marks obtained in the internal examination. This means students who appear for the internal examination will be able to retain those marks for three years. However, if they fail to clear the main examination within this period, they will have to appear for the internal examination again.

The new provision is expected to be particularly important for CHSE ex-regular students who are appearing for the Odisha Class 12 examinations after failing to clear the main examination in an earlier attempt.

Odisha CHSE Ex-Regular Students to Appear for Internal Exam From 2027

Under the revised provision, ex-regular candidates appearing for Odisha CHSE Plus Two exams from 2027 will also have to appear for the internal examination.

The internal examination will carry 20 marks. Once a candidate appears for the internal examination, the marks obtained will remain valid for three years. Candidates will therefore not need to repeat the internal examination every year during this validity period, provided they clear the main examination within three years.

The rule was approved during a meeting of the CHSE Syllabus Committee and will be implemented from 2027.
