The National Testing Agency has released the exam dates for the SWAYAM January 2026 semester. The SWAYAM-16 exams will be held from 17 June 2026 to 21 June 2026, with buffer dates set for 22 and 23 June 2026

The examinations are part of the Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) initiative, which offers a wide range of online courses supported by the Government of India. Exam Mode, Shifts and Medium Details

The SWAYAM 2026 examinations for the January semester will be conducted in hybrid mode, including Computer Based Tests (CBT) and traditional Pen and Paper tests, depending on the course requirements. Each day’s exams will be held in two shifts — the first from 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the second from 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM. The question paper medium will generally be English, with language subjects tested in their respective languages.

 

Courses and Marking Information

The SWAYAM January 2026 semester exams cover 648 courses, spanning disciplines such as engineering, science, management, humanities and more. For courses with multiple-choice questions, the National Testing Agency has stated that there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers, providing some relief to candidates appearing in these papers.
