The National Testing Agency has released a guidance video explaining how to select exam city and medium in the NEET UG 2026 application. The video clarifies doubts about the role of present and permanent address details in the process.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published an informational video to help candidates understand how to choose their exam city and medium of examination while filling the NEET UG 2026 application form. The guidance aims to address common queries among applicants about how location details affect exam logistics.
What the Video Explains
The video, shared via the official NTA Exams social media account, emphasises that the selection of exam city and language medium for NEET UG 2026 will be determined based on the present and permanent address information entered by candidates in the application form. This helps ensure that each aspirant is allotted a convenient test city and appropriate medium without confusion. The guidance was posted as part of NTA’s efforts to keep candidates informed ahead of the NEET UG 2026 registration deadline of 8 March 2026. The instructional video also carries relevant hashtags such as #NEETUG2026, #ExamCities, and #MediumOfExaminationTips to aid candidates monitoring updates on social platforms.
Why This Guidance Matters?
Many candidates face uncertainty when selecting preferences for exam city and paper medium, especially because these choices determine where they will take the NEET UG test and in which language version they will receive their question paper. Clarifying these procedures early helps reduce error in applications and improves the accuracy of centre allotments.
Related NEET UG 2026 Updates
The NEET UG 2026 registration process began recently, and the NTA has introduced some new requirements for applicants this year. These include Aadhaar-based eKYC and live photo capture during form submission to bolster identity verification. The exam city selection rule has also been updated to restrict choices based on proximity to the candidate’s address, making the allocation fairer and more relevant to applicants’ locations. Aspiring medical students are advised to watch the official video and carefully follow the instructions when selecting exam city and medium in the NEET UG 2026 application to avoid mistakes that could impact their test day logistics.
