The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a fresh exam day advisory for JEE Main 2026, introducing stricter verification measures at examination centres. As per the latest instructions, Aadhaar-based biometric authentication will be mandatory for all candidates appearing in the engineering entrance examination. The advisory aims to enhance exam security and ensure a fair and transparent testing process nationwide.
Aadhaar Biometric Authentication Mandatory at Exam Centres
According to the updated guidelines, candidates must undergo biometric verification using Aadhaar at the examination centre before being allowed entry into the exam hall. This process will include fingerprint and identity authentication to confirm candidate details.Candidates are advised to ensure that their Aadhaar details are accurate and available at the time of examination to avoid any inconvenience during verification.
JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Verification Process
Under the revised procedure, candidates will be required to complete multiple verification steps at the centre. These include document checking, biometric authentication, and identity confirmation as per NTA norms. The agency has clarified that failure to complete biometric authentication may lead to denial of entry. Candidates are therefore advised to report well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
Important Instructions for JEE Main 2026 Candidates
NTA has advised candidates to strictly follow all exam-day instructions mentioned in the advisory and on the admit card. Carrying a valid admit card and approved photo identity proof will remain mandatory in addition to Aadhaar-based verification.Candidates should also adhere to the prescribed dress code and avoid carrying barred items to the examination centre.
Purpose of the Updated NTA Advisory
The fresh advisory has been issued to prevent impersonation and strengthen examination integrity. By introducing mandatory Aadhaar biometric checks, NTA aims to streamline candidate authentication and ensure a smooth conduct of the JEE Main 2026 examination.Candidates are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the revised guidelines in advance to ensure a hassle-free exam day experience.
