The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an official clarification regarding JEE Main 2026 city allotment rumours circulating on social media. The agency confirmed that its September 29, 2025 advisory does not relate to exam city or centre allocation for JEE (Main) or any other NTA exams.
The advisory was intended solely to remind candidates to update Aadhaar cards, Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards, and category certificates — including EWS, SC, ST, and OBC-NCL — before the JEE Main 2026 application window opens. This measure aims to prevent discrepancies in personal details, which have caused form rejections or delays in past sessions.
JEE Main 2026 Exam City and Centre Allocation
NTA clarified that city and examination centre allocation is a separate process, conducted only after submission of applications and fee payment. There is no connection between the Aadhaar advisory and the allocation of exam centres.
