NTA Advisory for JEE Main 2026 Released, Guidelines & Exam Dates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released important guidelines for candidates appearing for JEE Main 2026, which is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other participating state-funded institutions.
The JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions:
- Session 1: January 21–30, 2026
- Session 2: April 1–10, 2026
Key Advisory Points by NTA
- NTA will collect Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Photograph, and Address from Aadhaar Authentication. Candidates must ensure Aadhaar details are correct as per UIDAI guidelines.
- Since parent/guardian details are not in Aadhaar, candidates must fill these separately in the online application form.
- In case of a name mismatch between Aadhaar and 10th class certificates, NTA will provide an option to rectify it during registration.
Purpose of JEE Main 2026
The examination is a gateway for admission to BE/BTech programmes in:
- National Institutes of Technology (NITs)
- Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs)
- Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs)
- State-funded universities and institutions
Candidates qualifying JEE Main Paper 1 are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced for admission to IITs.
How to Apply for JEE Main 2026?
- Visit the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in
- Click on “New Registration” under the Candidate Activity section.
- Enter the required login credentials.
- Complete the registration to successfully apply for the examination.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the NTA website for updates regarding application corrections, admit cards, and exam instructions.
