Not Sure About CAT 2025 Score? Try Other MBA Exams Still Open

As the dust settles after IIM Kozhikode conducted CAT 2025 on November 30, thousands of MBA aspirants are now waiting for results — and many are unsure whether they’ll meet the cut-offs. For those candidates, the good news: the MBA admission path isn’t closed yet. Several alternate MBA entrance exams are still open for registration, allowing aspirants to keep their dreams alive.

Which Exams Can You Still Apply For?

Even if your CAT 2025 performance feels uncertain, consider these exams — many accept registrations even now:

• XAT 2026 — registration open now; exam scheduled for January 4, 2026.
• MAT 2025 (December session) — multiple test modes (PBT / CBT). Good chance especially for private and Tier-2 B-schools.
• IBSAT 2025 — exam registrations still ongoing; accepted by many business schools under ICFAI group.
• Other national / state-level or college-level MBA entrance tests (depending on your preferred colleges).

These exams offer a second chance — or even a first real attempt — for those who want to keep their MBA ambitions alive, without depending solely on CAT results.

Why It Makes Sense to Diversify — Not Depend on Just CAT?

• Top B-schools may have high CAT cut-offs this year; alternate exams increase your chances of getting admitted.
• Many MBA colleges accept non-CAT exams and have separate application procedures.
• Spreading applications across different exams reduces risk — in case one exam doesn’t go as planned, you still have backup options.
• Alternate exams often have different patterns and difficulty levels — you might perform better depending on your strengths (Quant, VARC, logical reasoning, etc.).

What You Should Do Now — Quick Action Plan?

1. Check the registration deadlines and eligibility for XAT, MAT, IBSAT (or other exams) immediately. Some close soon.
2. If you have already prepared for CAT, reuse your prep — fundamentals overlap across exams.
3. Apply to multiple B-schools with entrance exams accepted other than CAT — increases your chances.
4. Keep an eye on official websites and exam notifications for admit cards and exam dates.
