NMC Clears Two Medical Colleges in Odisha, Adds 200 MBBS Seats

The Government Medical College, Phulbani, and Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College have received the approval to add 100 MBBS seats each from the National Medical Commission. The commission has published a Letter of Permission to both of these colleges.

The Medical Assessment and Rating Board gave the license to the college after the document and application verification that was submitted by the college.

NMC Rules and Regulations:

Along with this, the National Medical Commission has informed the principals of both the new medical colleges to construct a website for the students. The website should contain all the information related to the college, like courses offered, fee structure, hospital services, hostel facility, and other equipment. In addition, the authorities of both colleges must be responsible for the fulfillment of faculty and other resources.

The newly constructed colleges must ensure that they contribute to 15% of the MBBS Seats and 50% of the Postgraduate Board Specialities for the All India Quota Counselling.

The National Medical Commission also warned the authorities that if the authority is found to be involved in any malpractices, then the license of that college will be revoked. The college authority must not be found in the false or wrong declaration or use of fabricated documents for the admission process.
