NLU Assam IPR Chair Professor 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the IPR Chair Professor position must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- Academic Experience:
- Served as or eligible to serve as a Professor or Associate Professor as per UGC norms.
- Must possess adequate teaching and research experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
- Professional Experience:
- Must be an IP attorney with a minimum of 10 years of practice in IPR law.
- Government Service Experience:
- A retired official from the Intellectual Property Office under CGPDTM, holding a doctoral degree.
- Should have worked at Level 12 or above (e.g., Controller of Patent & Design, Registrar of Trademark, or Registrar of Copyrights).
Age Limit and Tenure
- Candidates above 70 years of age are not eligible for this position.
- The appointment will be for a maximum term of five years, starting from the date of appointment.
- No individual shall continue as IPR Chair beyond five years.
Salary and Benefits
- Monthly Salary: ₹1.5 lakh (consolidated) for full-time IPR Chair.
- Increment: A 3% annual increment is applicable after the completion of each 12-month period.
