The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has extended the last date for payment of the NIOS Exam April 2026 fee for all registered learners. As per the official circular, students can now pay the examination fee till February 16, 2026. The fee payment window is open from February 10 to February 16, 2026, with a consolidated late fee of ₹1,600. The examination fee must be paid in online mode only through the official portal — sdmis.nios.ac.in.
NIOS Board Exam 2026 Schedule
The NIOS Board Exams 2026 are scheduled to be conducted in April–May 2026. The board is expected to release the NIOS Class 12 date sheet 2026 in March 2026. Learners are advised to complete the fee payment process within the extended deadline to avoid disqualification.
Important Guidelines for Senior Secondary Learners
According to the circular issued by NIOS:
- Learners of the Senior Secondary Course must ensure a mandatory gap of two years from the block/session and year of passing the Secondary Examination to obtain the passing certificate.
- If the two-year gap requirement is not fulfilled, learners can register for a maximum of four subjects (including previously passed subjects) for the April 2026 examination.
- Students must carefully select subjects while registering.
- Examination fee payment is accepted only through online mode via the official NIOS website.
