The National Institute of Open Schooling has announced the examination fee payment schedule for the NIOS April–May 2026 public examination. The notification applies to learners who were registered for the October/November 2025 examination cycle. NIOS Exam 2026 April Fee Payment Schedule
As per the official circular, registered learners can pay the examination fee in multiple phases. Candidates are advised to complete payment within the no-late-fee period to avoid additional charges. The detailed fee schedule is outlined below:
- Without late fee:From 13 January 2026 to 22 January 2026
- Exam fee: INR 300 per subject
- Additional practical fee: INR 150 per subject (where applicable)
- With late fee (per subject):From 23 January 2026 to 27 January 2026
- Late fee: INR 150 per subject
- With consolidated late fee:From 28 January 2026 to 01 February 2026
- Late fee: INR 1600 per learner
No fee payment requests will be accepted beyond the final deadline.
Eligibility Rules for Senior Secondary Learners
According to the guidelines issued by National Institute of Open Schooling, learners enrolled in the Senior Secondary Course must maintain a mandatory gap of two years from the session and year of passing the Secondary Examination to obtain the final pass certificate. If a learner does not meet the two-year gap requirement, registration for the April–May 2026 examination will be restricted to a maximum of four subjects, including subjects already passed. Learners are advised to choose subjects carefully while registering.
