The National Institute of Fashion Technology has opened the admission process for the academic session 2026. As per the official notification, the National Testing Agency will conduct NIFTEE-2026 for admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, lateral entry, artisan and PhD programmes. Online applications began on 08 December 2025, and the last date to apply without late fee is 06 January 2026. Candidates who miss the regular deadline can still submit the form with late fee between 07 January and 10 January 2026. The application correction window will remain open from 12 January to 14 January 2026.
NIFTEE 2026 Exam Date and Mode
The Stage-1 NIFTEE 2026 examination will be conducted on 08 February 2026 (Sunday). The test will be held across one hundred cities in India. Depending on the programme, the exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Pen-and-Paper Based Test (PBT) mode. The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi. In case of any discrepancy, the English version will be treated as final.

Programmes Offered Through NIFTEE 2026
NIFT has invited applications for the following programmes under NIFTEE 2026:
- Undergraduate: B.Des, B.F.Tech
- Postgraduate: M.Des, M.F.Tech, M.F.M
- Lateral Entry (NLEA): B.Des, B.F.Tech
- Artisan Category: B.Des
- Doctoral Programme: PhD
In addition, NRI, OCI, PIO, SAARC and foreign nationals are also eligible to apply as per the prescribed norms. Admission to the PhD programme will involve a written test, research proposal presentation and personal interview.
Eligibility and Documents Required
Applicants must meet the prescribed age limit, educational qualification, category requirements and subject-specific criteria. For instance, Mathematics is mandatory for admission to B.F.Tech programmes. The following documents must be uploaded during online application:
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Scanned signature
- Category certificate, if applicable
- UDID certificate for PwD candidates, if applicable
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The selection process for NIFTEE 2026 will be based on:
- General Ability Test (GAT)
- Creative Ability Test (CAT)
- Situation Test and/or Personal Interview, depending on the programme
