The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Shillong, is set to celebrate its 13th convocation ceremony on September 4, 2025, at the Lariti International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture, Mawdiangdiang. The ceremony will mark the graduation of the Class of 2025, recognising students’ achievements across design, management, and allied disciplines.
Paul Lyngdoh, the Meghalaya Minister for Arts and Culture, Social Welfare, Textiles, and Tourism, will attend as the chief guest, highlighting the government’s focus on promoting creative education. The event will also see the presence of Prof. (Dr) Noopur Anand, Dean (Academics) at NIFT Headquarters, and Prof. (Dr) Shinju Mahajan, Head of Academic Affairs, NIFT Headquarters.
Director Shankar Kumar Jha described the convocation as a celebration of creativity, design innovation, and social responsibility, reflecting NIFT Shillong’s commitment to blending traditional artistry with contemporary fashion trends. Graduates from programs including Fashion Design, Textile Design, Leather Design, and Fashion Communication will receive their degrees and certificates, showcasing their academic and practical excellence.
