National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Mumbai held its Convocation Ceremony, conferring undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD degrees upon 343 students from its Mumbai and Daman campuses.
Minister Pabitra Margherita Inaugurates New Academic Infrastructure
During the ceremony, Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs, inaugurated new academic facilities at the NIFT Kharghar campus. The newly constructed infrastructure includes Academic Buildings I, II, and III, along with a multi-purpose hall and a 500-seat auditorium. These facilities are designed to enhance the academic environment and support the institution's commitment to excellence in fashion education.
Recognition of Scholarly Excellence
Minister Margherita also conferred PhD degrees upon two associate professors—Susmita Das from NIFT Mumbai and Amisha Mehta from NIFT Gandhinagar—in recognition of their scholarly contributions to the field of fashion education. This acknowledgment underscores NIFT's dedication to fostering academic research and innovation.
