On October 2, 2025, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) will officially launch the NIELIT Digital University (NDU) platform. The inauguration ceremony will be held virtually, with Union Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, presiding over the event from the Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The launch will be attended by over 1,500 participants, including NIELIT students and industry partners.
NIELIT Digital University Platform Launch Details
The NIELIT Digital University platform aims to democratize access to high-quality digital education by offering industry-focused programs in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Semiconductor Manufacturing. These programs will be delivered through flexible digital learning modes and virtual labs, equipping students with future-ready skills. In conjunction with the platform launch, five new NIELIT centres will be inaugurated at the following locations:
- Muzaffarpur, Bihar
- Balasore, Odisha
- Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh
- Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu
- Lunglei, Mizoram
These centres will serve as regional hubs for digital education and skill development.
Industry Collaboration and Future Prospects
The launch event will feature a panel discussion on the "Role of AI in Digitisation of Education," bringing together experts from academia and industry. Additionally, a felicitation ceremony will honor top-performing students from the DevSecOps course, a joint initiative by NIELIT and Kyndryl. With an extensive presence through 56 NIELIT centres, over 750 accredited institutes, and more than 9,000 facilitation centres nationwide, NIELIT has successfully trained and certified millions of students in Electronics and Information & Communication Technology (E&ICT) domains.
