NID DAT 2026 M.Des Prelims Result & Rechecking Window Open Until Feb 14

The National Institute of Design (NID) has released the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2026 Prelims results for the Master of Design (M.Des) programme on its official admission site admissions.nid.edu on 12 February 2026. Candidates who appeared for the DAT prelims can now check their scorecards online by logging in with their registered email ID and date of birth. Alongside the result announcement, NID has opened a rechecking window — a brief period during which candidates can request verification of their prelims scorecard for technical errors such as unmarked answers or incorrect calculation of marks.

Rechecking Window Details for NID DAT 2026

The rechecking request facility is available for a short period immediately following the declaration of the prelims result: Important Dates:

• Prelims Result Declared: 12 February 2026
• Rechecking Window Opens: 12 February 2026
• Rechecking Window Closes: 14 February 2026 (until 11:59 pm)

During this period, candidates can apply for rechecking through the NID admission portal if they suspect any answer was left unmarked or if there was a mistake in totalling their marks. This process does not involve a full re-evaluation of answers; it is restricted to basic verification checks.

How to Submit a Rechecking Request?

Candidates should follow these steps to apply for scorecard rechecking:

1. Go to the NID admission portal at admissions.nid.edu.
2. Log in using your registered email ID and date of birth or password.
3. Access the rechecking request link on your prelims result page.
4. Pay the rechecking fee (around INR 2000 per discipline) as mandated.
5. Submit the request before the deadline.

Requests submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. If a discrepancy is confirmed from the recheck, NID will communicate the revised marks and updated scorecard to the candidate’s registered email.

Next Phase: NID DAT 2026 Mains Exam

Candidates who qualify in the prelims stage are eligible to appear for the DAT Mains exam, which typically includes more in-depth assessments such as studio tests and interviews. The exact dates and admit card details for the Mains stage will be announced on the official NID portal soon. The combined performance in prelims and mains will determine final admission decisions for the M.Des programme at NID campuses across India.
