The National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Central Government have introduced unprecedented security measures for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21, 2026. The enhanced protocols aim to prevent paper leaks, impersonation, and other forms of malpractice that led to the cancellation of the earlier examination. Major steps include temporary restrictions on Telegram, deployment of CAPF personnel, lockdown of paper setters, transportation of question papers through the Indian Air Force (IAF), biometric verification, and multi-layer security checks at examination centres.

NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 Security Measures: Telegram Ban to IAF Support

The NEET UG 2026 re-examination, scheduled for June 21, 2026, will be conducted under one of the strictest security frameworks ever implemented for a national entrance examination in India. Following the controversy surrounding the earlier examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and various government agencies have coordinated extensive measures to ensure a fair, transparent, and leak-proof testing process. Authorities have strengthened both digital and physical security mechanisms, covering every stage of the examination process—from question paper preparation and transportation to candidate verification and monitoring at exam centres.

NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 Security Measures and Important Dates

The government has stated that these measures are aimed at restoring confidence in the examination system and protecting genuine candidates from fraudulent activities. Candidates appearing for the examination should note the key details related to the re-exam.

Telegram Restricted Ahead of NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam

One of the most discussed measures introduced ahead of the examination is the temporary restriction on Telegram in India. The move was taken after authorities alleged that certain groups were using the platform to circulate fake paper leaks and scam candidates by promising access to question papers. According to official statements, the restriction will remain in effect until June 22, 2026, covering the examination period and its immediate aftermath. Authorities also sought restrictions on specific platform functionalities that could be misused to create misleading claims regarding paper leaks.

Indian Air Force Deployed for Secure Question Paper Transportation

To strengthen the security of examination materials, the government has involved the Indian Air Force (IAF) in transporting question papers across the country. The IAF reportedly conducted around 200 sorties to distribute confidential examination material to designated zones before the re-exam. The use of military logistics is intended to minimise transportation risks and ensure that question papers reach examination centres securely and on time. This is one of the most extensive logistical operations undertaken for a national entrance examination.

NEET Paper Setters Under Lockdown Protocol

The authorities have also implemented strict lockdown measures for individuals involved in question paper preparation. Paper setters have reportedly been isolated from external communication channels and do not have access to mobile phones or the internet until the examination concludes. The objective behind this measure is to eliminate any possibility of unauthorised disclosure of examination content before the scheduled test date.

CAPF Deployment and Multi-Layer Security at Examination Centres

The government has deployed Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel to support security arrangements during transportation and at examination centres. Agencies such as the CRPF and CISF are assisting in maintaining strict surveillance throughout the examination process. These arrangements are intended to prevent impersonation, cheating, and the introduction of prohibited materials into examination halls. Candidates will encounter several levels of security checks before entering examination venues. Key security measures include:

  • Multi-layer security screening at entry points
  • Aadhaar-based biometric verification
  • Facial recognition checks
  • Photo ID verification
  • Deep frisking procedures
  • CCTV surveillance across centres
  • Monitoring of sensitive areas around exam venues

Enhanced Monitoring and Surveillance During NEET Re-Exam

Apart from centre-level security, authorities have increased monitoring around examination locations. Reports indicate that local administrations and law enforcement agencies have been instructed to maintain vigilance near examination centres and surrounding areas. Several states have also reviewed law-and-order arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the examination and to prevent any attempt to disrupt the process.

NTA Assures Fair and Transparent Conduct of Examination

The NTA has repeatedly assured candidates and parents that no individual can access the question paper before the scheduled examination. The agency has urged students not to trust claims circulating on social media regarding leaked papers or guaranteed access to examination content. Additionally, NTA has launched support initiatives, including a mental health helpline, to help students manage stress and remain focused ahead of the examination. Candidates have been advised to rely only on official communications and avoid misinformation.

What Candidates Should Do Before the June 21 NEET Re-Exam?

With the examination date approaching, candidates should focus on final preparation and ensure that all required documents are ready. Aspirants should verify their admit card details, check reporting times, and familiarise themselves with the security procedures that will be followed at the examination centre. The NEET UG 2026 re-exam on June 21 will be conducted under unprecedented security arrangements involving digital restrictions, military logistics support, biometric verification, CAPF deployment, and extensive surveillance. These measures have been introduced to ensure a transparent and credible examination process for medical aspirants across the country.
