NEET UG 2026 Exam: Things to Carry and Not Carry: Complete NTA Guidelines for Exam Day

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released strict instructions for candidates appearing in NEET UG 2026 exam regarding things to carry and not carry. These guidelines are very important for all aspirants as they ensure smooth entry, proper security checks, and fair conduct of the examination. Students must carefully follow these rules because even a small mistake in carrying prohibited items or missing documents can lead to denial of entry into the exam centre. NTA has clearly divided exam-day requirements into two categories—permitted items that are mandatory for entry verification and prohibited items that are strictly banned inside the exam hall.

NEET UG 2026 Things to Carry (Allowed Items)

Candidates appearing for NEET UG 2026 must carry only essential documents and approved items to the exam centre. These items are required for identity verification and smooth entry process. Without these documents, candidates will not be allowed to sit in the examination.

  • Printed NEET UG 2026 admit card
  • Valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, School ID)
  • Passport-size photograph (same as application form)
  • PwD certificate (if applicable)
  • Transparent water bottle (if permitted at centre)

Only official documents and minimal essentials are allowed inside the examination hall.

NEET UG 2026 Things Not to Carry (Strictly Prohibited Items)

To maintain fairness and prevent malpractice, NTA has banned several items inside the NEET UG 2026 exam centres. Candidates must ensure they do not carry any restricted objects, as security checks will be very strict.

  • Mobile phones and smartphones
  • Smartwatches, calculators, or digital devices
  • Bluetooth devices or earphones
  • Bags, wallets, or purses
  • Jewellery, chains, rings, or metal accessories
  • Written notes, books, or study material
  • Stationery items (except those provided at centre)

Carrying any prohibited item may result in strict action, including cancellation of candidature.

NEET UG 2026 Important Exam Day Instructions

Along with items guidelines, NTA has also issued important instructions for exam day conduct. These rules are designed to ensure smooth entry, proper verification, and disciplined exam environment.

  • Reach exam centre well before reporting time
  • Complete biometric and security verification
  • Follow dress code instructions strictly
  • Cooperate during frisking and checks
  • Sit only in allotted seating arrangement

Late entry will not be permitted under any circumstances after gate closing time.
