Aadhaar eKYC Made Mandatory for NEET 2026

As part of the new rules, Aadhaar-based eKYC has been made compulsory for NEET UG 2026 registration. Aadhaar details will be used for identity verification during the application stage.

This step aims to streamline candidate authentication and reduce discrepancies during admit card issuance and examination day verification. Applicants must ensure that Aadhaar details are accurate and active before starting the registration process.

Live Photograph Capture During Application Submission

Another key change in the NEET UG 2026 application process is the requirement to upload a live photograph. Instead of submitting a pre-clicked image, candidates must capture a real-time photo during form submission.

The live photograph will be automatically compared with the Aadhaar database to confirm identity. This measure has been introduced to enhance exam security and minimise the risk of fraudulent registrations.

Exam City Allotment Based on Address Details

The exam centre allocation process has also been revised for NEET UG 2026. Examination cities will now be assigned based on the permanent or present address provided by the applicant in the application form.

This change is expected to reduce logistical issues and ensure fair distribution of exam centres. Candidates must carefully fill in address details, as incorrect information may affect exam city allotment.

The application window for NEET UG 2026 is currently open, and candidates must complete the registration process within the stipulated timeline. The last date to submit the NEET UG 2026 application form is March 8, 2026.
