The NEET PG 2025 counselling Round 3 registration window is currently open and will remain so until 26 January 2026 as per the revised Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) schedule. Candidates should complete choice filling and locking by the same date, with seat allotment results expected by 29 January 2026
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a revised schedule for the NEET PG 2025 Round 3 counselling as part of the postgraduate medical admission process. Candidates who qualified in the NEET PG 2025 exam can now register for Round 3 counselling and complete associated procedures ahead of seat allocation.
NEET PG 2025 Round 3 Revised Counselling Timeline
Under the updated timeline issued by MCC, key events and deadlines for Round 3 counselling are outlined below:
- Registration and payment: 15 January to 26 January 2026
- Choice filling and locking: 16 January to 26 January 2026
- Seat allotment result: 29 January 2026
- Reporting to allotted college: 30 January to 6 February 2026
- Stray vacancy round registration (if any): 10 to 15 February 2026
Candidates must complete both registration and choice filling/locking steps by the 26 January 2026 deadline to be considered for seat allotment.
Cut-off Revision and Eligibility
To increase eligibility and fill vacant seats across postgraduate medical programmes, MCC has revised the NEET PG qualifying cut-off criteria for Round 3. The updated cut-off enables broader participation:
- Unreserved (UR): 7th percentile equivalent
- SC/ST/OBC: 0th percentile equivalent
- UR PwBD: 5th percentile equivalent
The revision aims to allow more candidates to participate in counselling and secure MD, MS, DNB and postgraduate diploma seats in both government and private institutions.
How to Complete Registration and Choice Filling?
Eligible candidates must log in to the MCC counselling portal using their NEET PG 2025 credentials to:
- Register and pay the counselling fee and security deposit (if applicable).
- Fill and lock college and course preferences in the choice filling section.
- Submit and confirm to ensure participation in Round 3 seat allotment.
It is important to ensure that all details, including personal information and NEET PG rank, are entered accurately to avoid discrepancies in the allotment process.
What Happens After Seat Allotment
Once the Seat Allotment Result for Round 3 is published on 29 January 2026, candidates who have been allotted seats must:
- Download the allotment letter from the MCC portal.
- Report to the allotted college between 30 January and 6 February 2026.
- Complete document verification and admission formalities as per college norms.
Candidates who do not report within this window may forfeit their seat, and alternate rounds such as stray vacancy may be conducted to fill remaining seats.
Tips for NEET PG Counselling Participants
- Complete registration and preference locking well before the 26 January deadline.
- Monitor official MCC updates regularly for any changes to dates or procedures.
- Prepare and organise essential documents for the reporting process immediately after seat allotment.
Timely action and careful documentation are key to securing admission in postgraduate medical courses through the NEET PG counselling process.
