The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially commenced the NEET PG Counselling 2025 round 1 choice-filling and locking process. Candidates seeking admission to MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB programmes under the All India Quota (AIQ) and other quotas can now log in and select their preferred colleges and courses. The seat allotment result is scheduled for November 20, 2025.

Key Schedule Details

  • The choice-filling window for round 1 will close on November 18, 2025.
  • The allotment process will take place on November 19-20, with the result published on November 20, 2025.
  • Candidates allotted seats must complete joining formalities from November 21 to November 27, 2025.

State-Wise Updates & Seat Matrix

In its latest update, MCC removed 73 postgraduate seats from the NEET PG 2025 seat matrix due to administrative adjustments. The seats withdrawn include 39 in Gujarat, 12 in Jammu & Kashmir, 9 in Uttar Pradesh, 4 in Telangana, 2 in West Bengal and 7 in Chhattisgarh. A breakdown shows that Karnataka leads with 422 approved seats, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 233, among other states.

What Candidates Must Do Now?

Students must log on to the official MCC portal and complete the choice-filling process diligently. They should arrange their preferences in order of priority, enter four to five test cities, and then lock their choices before closing time. Mistakes or delays can adversely affect allotment chances. Documentation for the round includes the NEET PG 2025 scorecard, MBBS degree certificate (provisional or permanent), internship completion certificate, medical registration certificate, and category certificate (if applicable).

Other Important Highlights

  • The qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2025 was set at 276 marks for General/EWS, and 255 marks for General-PwBD category.
  • The counselling will span four rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a Stray Vacancy Round for leftover seats.
  • Fee structures have been published for state counselling; for instance, in Kerala, MD/MS programme annual fee was reported as INR 57,890 tuition plus INR 11,580 miscellaneous in Government medical colleges.

Next Steps for Students

After the seat allotment on November 20, candidates must report to the allotted institutes between November 21 and November 27. Verification of candidates’ data will be conducted by institutes from November 28 to November 30. Decision-making at this stage is crucial to avoid forfeiture of seats.
