NEET PG 2026 Exam on August 30; NBEMS Revises Paper Pattern to 180 Questions

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026 will be conducted on August 30, 2026. The entrance examination for postgraduate medical admissions will take place in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM across designated examination centres. Alongside the examination schedule, NBEMS has introduced changes to the examination format. The most significant revision is the reduction in the total number of questions, while the marking methodology remains unchanged. Candidates who wish to pursue MD, MS and PG Diploma programmes should carefully review the updated examination pattern and application guidelines before completing the registration process.

NEET PG 2026 Revised Paper Pattern

NBEMS has modified the structure of the entrance examination for the 2026 session. Under the revised format, the examination will now include 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) instead of the previous 200 questions. Every question will provide four answer choices, and candidates must select the single most appropriate response. The revised marking scheme is as follows:
