The Supreme Court of India has scheduled the hearing of the NEET PG 2025 transparency plea for September 23, 2025. The matter has been listed as a top-priority case, and the proceedings will commence with the NEET PG 2025 issue. This hearing follows the previous Supreme Court direction on September 19, 2025, when the bench of Justices J.B. Pardiwala and K.V. Viswanathan adjourned the case and set the new date.
NEET PG 2025 SC Hearing: Case Background
The plea was filed by a group of NEET PG 2025 aspirants seeking intervention regarding transparency in the release of the answer key. The petitioners challenged the corrective notice issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), which stated that question ID numbers, correct answers, and candidate responses would be displayed. The official NBEMS notification explained:
"Since the sequence of questions within a section is shuffled for different candidates, and the order of four distractors of a question is also shuffled, the question ID numbers, correct answer key, and responses shall be displayed as per the Master set of the NEET PG 2025 question paper."
Despite this, the petitioners argued that the answer key disclosure was opaque, unintelligible, and incapable of meaningful verification, prompting the SC intervention.
Bench Observations and Adjournment
During the previous hearing, the SC bench questioned the petitioners on their intentions, asking whether the plea was motivated by dissatisfaction with scores rather than procedural transparency. The court also noted that legal provisions could sometimes be misused to delay or complicate examination processes. Following these observations, the Supreme Court adjourned the NEET PG 2025 hearing to September 23, 2025, when it will be addressed on a priority basis.Candidates and stakeholders are advised to monitor updates from the Supreme Court and NBEMS for further developments regarding the NEET PG 2025 answer key and related proceedings.
