The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the NEET PG 2025 stray round counselling schedule on its official website — mcc.nic.in. As per the notification, registration for the stray vacancy round will begin on February 16, 2026, and the last date to register is February 18, 2026. Candidates who have already registered for NEET PG counselling earlier do not need to register again for the stray vacancy round. However, they must fill and lock their choices of colleges and courses within the stipulated timeline to be considered for seat allotment.
The stray round is conducted to fill the remaining vacant postgraduate medical seats after the completion of all regular counselling rounds.

NEET PG 2025 Stray Round Seat Allotment Process
MCC will release the NEET PG 2025 stray round seat allotment result online in PDF format. Seats will be allotted based on several factors, including:
- NEET PG rank
- Choices filled by candidates
- Reservation norms
- Availability of seats
After the seat allotment result is declared, candidates must report to the allotted institute for document verification and admission formalities. The last date for reporting and document verification is February 28, 2026. Failure to report within the prescribed deadline may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.
NEET PG Cutoff Reduced
It is important to note that the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has recently reduced the NEET PG cutoff for all categories. The qualifying percentile has been reduced to:
- 0 percentile for General and other categories
- –40 percentile for SC/ST candidates
This reduction is expected to allow more candidates to participate in the stray vacancy round and improve seat utilisation.
