The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to announce the NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule for MD and MS admissions by mid-October 2025, according to the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA). The update comes after discussions between FAIMA and officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
FAIMA Update on NEET PG 2025 Counselling Schedule
FAIMA shared the latest update on its official social media handle. The post stated, “As per our communication with MoHFW officials, NEET PG counselling is most likely to begin by mid-October. Further details awaited.”
This announcement has brought some relief to thousands of medical graduates who have been waiting for the MCC NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule. The complete schedule will be released on the official MCC website — mcc.nic.in.
Ongoing Uncertainty Over NEET PG 2025 Counselling
Candidates have been waiting for several weeks amid uncertainty caused by ongoing legal proceedings. The Supreme Court of India has given the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) two weeks to respond to petitions filed by NEET PG 2025 candidates and the United Doctors Front (UDF).
These petitions highlight transparency concerns regarding the NEET PG 2025 result and access to exam materials. The outcome of these hearings will likely determine the final counselling schedule.
Supreme Court to Review NEET PG Transparency Petitions
The Supreme Court is expected to review the transparency-related petitions after the two-week period ends. Earlier, the NBEMS had announced that it would release answer keys, response sheets, and question papers for the NEET PG 2025 exam.
However, NBEMS later clarified that only question IDs would be made available, citing the proprietary nature of the exam content. Petitioners argued that this decision prevents candidates from verifying their results and assessing the fairness of the evaluation process.
The Court will likely take up the matter again in mid-October. Until then, MBBS graduates are awaiting the official MCC counselling dates for PG medical admissions.
State Counselling Ongoing
While the national-level counselling is pending, several states, including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, have already started the state-level NEET PG 2025 counselling.
The MCC NEET PG counselling schedule 2025 will determine seat allocation for MD, MS, and PG Diploma programmes across medical colleges under the All India Quota. Once released, the detailed timetable, registration process, and reporting guidelines will be available on mcc.nic.in.
