NCERT Recruitment 2026 Application Window Closes Today for 117 Posts

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will close the application window for direct recruitment to academic positions today, March 6, 2026 (Friday). Candidates interested in applying must complete their registration before 5 PM by visiting the official website.

 

Earlier, the last date to apply for the recruitment was February 20, but the council extended the deadline to give candidates additional time. After 5 PM on March 6, the online application portal will be closed and no further applications will be accepted. This recruitment drive aims to fill 117 vacancies for academic and library positions across various NCERT institutions in India.

 

NCERT Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

The recruitment includes positions for Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Librarian posts at NCERT headquarters and its regional institutions.

 

NCERT has announced that the vacancies are available at its New Delhi headquarters and its constituent units located in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, and Shillong. The recruitment will fill the following positions:

  • Professor
  • Associate Professor
  • Assistant Professor
  • Deputy Librarian
  • Assistant Librarian

NCERT Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

Candidates applying under the UR, OBC, and EWS categories must pay an application fee of INR 1,000, which can be paid only through online mode. However, certain categories are exempted from paying the application fee.

 

Fee Exempted Categories:

  • Women candidates
  • SC candidates
  • ST candidates
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

The council has clearly stated that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

 

NCERT Recruitment 2026 Pay Scale

NCERT has announced different pay levels for the academic positions under the Academic Pay Level structure.

 

Pay Structure for Posts:

The pay scales correspond to the revised academic pay levels followed by central institutions.

 

Steps to Apply for NCERT Recruitment 2026

Candidates who have not yet applied can follow these steps to complete their application before the deadline:

  1. Visit the official website: ncert.nic.in.
  2. Go to the “Announcements” or “Vacancies” section.
  3. Open the notification for NCERT Academic Recruitment 2026.
  4. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  5. Log in and fill out the application form with personal and educational details.
  6. Upload the required documents, including photograph and signature.
  7. Pay the application fee online (if applicable).
  8. Submit the application form and download a copy for future reference.

NCERT has clarified that the registration will remain provisional until verification of original documents. The eligibility of shortlisted candidates will be confirmed during the interview stage.

 

The council also stated that a candidate’s registration may be cancelled at any stage of the recruitment process, including after appointment, if the information provided is found to be incorrect or if the candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria.
