The Maharashtra State CET Cell makes Aadhaar card and APAAR ID mandatory for MHT CET registration. Candidates must complete identity verification to submit their application forms successfully.
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell mandates the use of Aadhaar card and APAAR ID for candidates registering for the MHT CET examination. The move aims to strengthen identity verification and ensure transparency during the admission process. Candidates without the required credentials are unable to proceed with the application submission.
What Is APAAR ID and Why It Is Required?
The APAAR ID is a unique student identification number introduced under the national digital academic framework. It links academic records to a verified identity and enables seamless authentication across education platforms. The CET Cell requires APAAR ID along with Aadhaar to reduce duplication, prevent impersonation, and streamline data validation during entrance examinations.
MHT CET Registration Verification Process
During the MHT CET application process, candidates are required to:
- Enter Aadhaar number for identity verification
- Link or generate APAAR ID
- Complete biometric or OTP-based authentication
Only after successful verification can candidates proceed to fill in personal, academic, and exam preference details.
Who Needs to Generate APAAR ID?
Candidates who do not already have an APAAR ID must generate it through the designated academic identity system before completing MHT CET registration. The process involves basic personal details and Aadhaar-based verification. The CET Cell advises applicants to complete this step early to avoid delays in form submission.
Advisory for MHT CET Aspirants
Candidates planning to appear for the MHT CET are advised to:
- Ensure Aadhaar details are accurate and active
- Generate or link APAAR ID well in advance
- Complete registration before the application deadline
The mandatory requirement of Aadhaar card and APAAR ID marks a significant change in the MHT CET registration process, aimed at improving exam integrity and administrative efficiency.
