MHT CET PCM 2026 Exam Analysis: April 19 Shift 1 Paper Review, Difficulty Level & Answer Key

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell conducted the MHT CET PCM 2026 April 19 Shift 1 exam successfully from 9 AM to 12 PM across multiple exam centres. Students appearing for the engineering entrance exam shared that the overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate and well-balanced. Mathematics was considered the most time-consuming section, while Physics and Chemistry were comparatively easier and more scoring sections.

 

MHT CET PCM 2026 April 19 Shift 1 Difficulty Level

As per student reactions, the overall paper was moderate. More weightage was given to Class 12 topics. Mathematics was moderate to tough with lengthy and tricky questions. Physics was easy to moderate and mostly formula-based, while Chemistry was easy and largely based on the HSC textbook pattern.

Students reported that several direct and concept-based questions were asked from high-weightage chapters.

Questions were asked from:

  • Waves
  • Optics
  • Electromagnetism

 

Mathematics Topics

High-weightage topics included:

  • Vectors and 3D
  • Differential Equations
  • Calculus
  • Integration

 

Chemistry Topics

Important topics included:

  • Name Reactions
  • Periodic Classification
  • Polymers
  • Physical Chemistry concepts

Physical Chemistry had slightly more weightage compared to Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.

 

MHT CET 2026 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The MHT CET PCM paper consists of:

  • Total Questions: 150
  • Physics: 50 Questions
  • Chemistry: 50 Questions
  • Mathematics: 50 Questions
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Mathematics: 2 marks per question
  • Physics and Chemistry: 1 mark each
  • No negative marking

The total exam duration is 180 minutes, conducted in two sections of 90 minutes each.

 

MHT CET 2026 Shift Timings

The exam is conducted in two shifts:

  • Shift 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Shift 2: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Candidates appearing for Shift 2 were advised to carry their admit card and a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre.

 

MHT CET PCM 2026: Answer Key and Question Paper PDF Update

Memory-based MHT CET April 19 question papers with solutions and unofficial answer keys are being released by coaching experts and education portals. The official answer key will be released later by the State CET Cell on the official website cetcell.mahacet.org after completion of all exam shifts.

 

Important Dates for MHT CET PCM 2026

The result will be released only after both PCM and PCB exam windows are completed.
