MHT CET 2026 Registration: Aadhaar, APAAR Mismatch Will Not Disqualify

MHT CET 2026 registration is currently in progress, and candidates can submit their application forms till 12 February 2026 through the official website. Addressing concerns related to Aadhaar and APAAR ID requirements, the Commissioner of State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has assured candidates that minor discrepancies in personal details will not affect their eligibility.

Speaking at a press conference, Commissioner Dileep Sardesai clarified that candidates will not be stopped from appearing in the MHT CET 2026 examination due to document-related issues arising during registration.

Aadhaar and APAAR Mandatory for MHT CET 2026 Registration

The CET Cell has made Aadhaar and APAAR ID mandatory for completing the MHT CET 2026 application process. From this stage of registration onwards, candidates must provide these details while filling out the application form.

Despite the mandatory requirement, the CET Cell has reassured candidates that technical or spelling errors will not create problems during the examination or admission process.

Mismatch in MHT CET 2026 Registration Details to Be Resolved During Counselling

Clarifying the CET Cell’s position, Commissioner Dileep Sardesai stated that no candidate will be disqualified due to minor errors in Aadhaar, APAAR, or other documents.

He explained that during the MHT CET 2026 counselling process, any spelling mismatch or minor variation in personal details will be verified and resolved using other supporting documents. However, in cases involving a change of name, candidates will be required to submit valid legal documents for verification.

APAAR ID Creation Process for MHT CET 2026

The Commissioner also addressed concerns regarding the APAAR ID creation process. He stated that generating an APAAR ID is simple and student-friendly. To assist candidates, the CET Cell has uploaded a detailed user manual on its official website.

The manual explains the steps for Aadhaar authentication and APAAR ID creation. Candidates have been advised to follow the instructions carefully to avoid errors during registration.

Flexibility in Document Upload and DigiLocker Requirement

The CET Cell has further clarified that candidates can proceed with MHT CET 2026 registration even if their documents or marksheets are not immediately available. Documents can be uploaded at a later stage without any penalty.

To create an APAAR ID, candidates must first create a DigiLocker account. Once the DigiLocker account is active, candidates can complete the APAAR ID generation process and continue with the MHT CET application.

Name Variations to Appear on MHT CET Admit Card 2026

Addressing concerns about name differences across documents, the CET Cell clarified that even if a candidate’s name varies between Aadhaar, board marksheets, and other records, all versions of the name will be reflected on the MHT CET 2026 admit card.

Candidates have been advised to complete the registration process without delay and rely on the counselling stage for resolving any remaining discrepancies.
