MHT CET 2026 registration is currently in progress, and candidates can apply online till 12 February 2026. The Commissioner of State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has clarified concerns related to Aadhaar and APAAR ID requirements for the entrance examination. The clarification comes amid confusion among applicants regarding document mismatches during registration.

Addressing the issue at a press conference, CET Cell Commissioner Dileep Sardesai assured candidates that discrepancies in personal details will not stop them from appearing for MHT CET 2026. He confirmed that the registration process will remain inclusive and student-friendly.

Aadhaar and APAAR ID Requirement for MHT CET 2026

From the current registration cycle, Aadhaar and APAAR ID have been made mandatory for MHT CET 2026 application submission. Candidates are required to provide these details while filling out the application form on the official website.

The CET Cell clarified that candidates should not panic if their Aadhaar, board certificates, or other academic records contain minor spelling differences. Such issues will not impact exam eligibility.

Mismatch in MHT CET 2026 Registration Details

Clarifying the CET Cell’s stand, the Commissioner stated that no candidate will be disqualified due to minor mismatches in documents. During the counselling process, any small discrepancy in name or personal details will be verified using supporting documents.

In cases involving a legal name change, candidates will be required to submit valid proof such as a gazette notification or affidavit. The verification will be handled during counselling and document scrutiny stages.

It was also clarified that if names differ across Aadhaar, board marksheets, or other official records, all name variations will be reflected on the MHT CET 2026 admit card.

APAAR ID Creation Process Explained

The CET Cell also addressed concerns related to APAAR ID creation. According to officials, the process is simple and well-documented. A detailed user manual explaining Aadhaar authentication and APAAR ID generation steps has been uploaded on the official CET Cell website.

Candidates can proceed with MHT CET registration even if all documents are not immediately available. Officials confirmed that documents and marksheets can be uploaded at a later stage.

To create an APAAR ID, candidates must first have a DigiLocker account. Once the DigiLocker account is created, candidates can complete Aadhaar authentication and generate the APAAR ID without difficulty.
