The MHT CET 2026 application process is expected to begin in the last week of December 2025, and early indications suggest a possible increase in the application fee this year. As per reports, the Maharashtra State CET Cell has submitted a proposal recommending revised charges for all 19 CETs conducted for admission to 73 courses across the state. If approved, this will mark one of the key changes introduced ahead of the MHT CET 2026 exam, which will be organised in two sessions for the first time for engineering and pharmacy aspirants.
MHT CET Application Fee 2026: Expected Increase & Previous Fee Structure
According to initial reports, the CET Cell has proposed a fee hike of INR 150–250, depending on the exam category. Until the previous cycle, candidates appearing for CETs conducted in pen-and-paper mode were charged INR 500–600, while computer-based tests required a fee between INR 800–1,000. The revised fee is expected to apply across all MHT CET exams, potentially impacting engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, management and allied entrance tests in the state. The final approval from the Higher and Technical Education Department is awaited.
