MCC NEET PG 2025 Round 3 Counselling: Revised Cut-Off & Dates Soon

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is preparing to commence Round 3 of NEET PG 2025 counselling for postgraduate medical admissions, including MD and MS seats, after reducing the qualifying cut-off for eligibility to widen participation. The revised criteria are aimed at filling vacant positions left after earlier rounds.

Revised NEET PG Cut-Off for Round 3 Counselling

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has cut the minimum qualifying percentile required for NEET PG 2025 counselling Round 3, allowing a broader range of candidates to participate. For traditionally reserved categories, the cut-off has effectively been reduced to zero percentile, while the general category has seen significant relaxations to make more aspirants eligible for admission. This move addresses the challenge of vacant postgraduate medical seats, and is expected to open opportunities for eligible candidates who previously did not meet the earlier thresholds.

Expected Registration and Schedule

While the MCC has not yet officially released the Round 3 counselling schedule, sources point to the dates and registration portal being activated soon on mcc.nic.in. Candidates who did not register for the first two rounds will likely be able to do so once the registration window opens. The revised schedule is awaited and is expected to include timelines for choice filling, allotment, and joining deadlines. Candidates should keep their login credentials ready and monitor official updates.

Vacant Seats and National Trends

Reports indicate that over 18,000 postgraduate medical seats remain vacant across the country after the completion of early counselling stages. The cut-off relaxation is aimed at improving seat utilisation and ensuring MD/MS programmes are filled efficiently. Additionally, MCC has reopened options such as nationality conversion for NRI quota participation, expanding access ahead of the final counselling round.

Registration and Admission Process

Once the Round 3 counselling portal opens, candidates will need to:

  • Register on the official portal mcc.nic.in.
  • Provide NEET PG roll number and credentials to access counselling.
  • Fill choices for preferred colleges and courses.
  • Complete seat allotment and joining formalities within published deadlines.

Students who have already secured seats in earlier rounds may also manage resignations or modifications within stipulated timelines before Round 3 begins.

What Candidates Should Do Now?

Aspirants planning to participate in Round 3 are advised to stay updated through the official MCC portal and keep their documents verified and ready. With revised cut-off criteria now in place, more candidates stand a chance to secure admissions to MD and MS programmes in medical colleges nationwide.
