MCC Activates PwD Portal for Round 1 NEET PG Counselling 2025

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has activated the PwD certificate generation portal for Round 1 of NEET PG 2025 counselling. According to the official update, the portal will remain open until 4:00 PM on 18 November 2025. This step is aimed at candidates qualifying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category. Eligible candidates are required to visit designated disability assessment centres recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and obtain their disability certificate within the specified timeline.

What the Portal Activation Means?

The activation of the PwD portal is a critical requirement for PwD‑category aspirants looking to participate in the NEET PG 2025 Round 1 Counselling. Without a valid certificate generated through this portal, candidates may be ineligible to fill preferences or participate in seat allotment. By setting the cut‑off at 18 November, MCC is ensuring that all necessary documentation for the PwD category is in place before the main preference‐filling window moves ahead.

Steps for PwD Candidates

According to guidelines, PwD candidates must follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official MCC counselling portal.
  2. Navigate to the PwD Certificate Generation section.
  3. Book an assessment slot at a designated disability centre.
  4. After assessment, obtain the certificate through the portal by 4 PM on 18 November.
  5. Once certificate is generated, proceed with choice‑filling and preference locking for Round 1.

MCC has emphasised that late submission or non‑generation of the certificate may lead to exclusion from the PwD quota in the counselling process.

Current Counselling Update

In parallel, MCC has extended the choice‑filling window for Round 1 counselling until further notice. This extension follows changes to the seat matrix that emerged after the National Board of Examinations (NBE) withdrew 169 DNB postgraduate seats mid‑cycle. With the seat matrix still being revised, the PwD portal activation ensures that the PwD category candidates are ready for allotment when the final schedule is published.

Why This Matters?

For PwD aspirants, this update is a vital step in the counselling lifecycle for NEET PG 2025. Failure to obtain the certificate in time could mean forfeiture of rights under the reserved category and affect seat allotment. Moreover, for the overall counselling process, aligning PwD documentation ahead of time helps MCC streamline allotment for other categories and avoid delays.
