Manipur Class 12 Board Exams 2026 Begin at 117 Centres Across State

The Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) launched the Class 12 Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations for the academic year 2026 on 17 February 2026. Examinations are being conducted across 117 centres in both hill and valley districts to assess students in Science, Arts and Commerce streams.

Over 31,500 Students Take Part in COHSEM Class 12 Exams

According to the latest official figures, 31,530 students are appearing in the Class 12 board examinations this year. Of these candidates, 23,146 are from the Science stream, 7,697 from Arts and 687 from Commerce. Regular students account for most participants, while a small number are private or casual candidates. Authorities implemented strict screening measures at exam centres to ensure transparency and to prevent malpractice before candidates entered examination halls early on the first day.

Exam Schedule and Preparation

The board examinations will continue until 20 March 2026, with all theory papers scheduled in a morning shift. Students have assembled at their respective centres, accompanied by concerned parents, while officials and invigilators remain focused on maintaining a fair evaluation environment. Detailed timetables for the written examination were released earlier, with the first paper in English held on the opening day. Practical examinations were conducted during January 2026, prior to the commencement of written exams.

Centre Distribution and District Coverage

Of the 117 examination centres, 78 are located in valley districts and 39 in hill districts of Manipur. This represents a slight increase in both centres and examinees compared to the previous academic year. Officials also extended best wishes to students and emphasised the importance of a calm, disciplined approach during the examination period.

Appeals from Officials and Community Leaders

State leaders and community representatives urged parents and the public to cooperate with exam administrators and avoid disruptions near centres to ensure a smooth and peaceful assessment process. Students were advised to focus on their performance while handling examination pressures positively.
