Maharashtra HSC & SSC Exams 2026: MSBSHSE Tightens Rules for Fair Assessment

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has outlined a detailed schedule and stringent guidelines for the Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) board examinations 2026 to uphold fairness and discipline throughout the examination cycle.

Schedule for Maharashtra Board Exams 2026

According to the board’s announcement, key examination timelines are as follows:

  • HSC Practical, Oral & Internal Assessments: 2 February 2026 to 18 February 2026
  • SSC Practical & Viva Assessments: 23 January 2026 to 9 February 2026
  • HSC Written Exams: 10 February 2026 to 18 March 2026
  • SSC Written Exams: 20 February 2026 to 18 March 2026

These schedules enable systematic planning for students, schools and evaluators ahead of the board exams across Maharashtra’s nine divisional regions.

Strict Rules to Maintain Exam Fairness

To ensure a transparent and fair examination process, MSBSHSE has implemented several enhanced security and conduct measures:

  • Surveillance & Monitoring: Sensitive examination centres may be subject to drone surveillance and video monitoring during exams to deter malpractice.
  • Restricted Zones: All photocopy shops within 500 metres of exam venues will remain closed on exam days to prevent unauthorized access to materials.
  • Device Prohibitions: Use of mobile phones, Bluetooth devices or internet-enabled gadgets is banned inside and near exam centres to eliminate unfair practices.
  • Fresh Centre Staffing: Staff and supervisory personnel at previously problematic centres may be replaced to curb repeating irregularities.

These steps are part of the board’s ongoing efforts to reduce cheating and maintain the integrity of the SSC and HSC board exams

What Students Should Know?

Students preparing for SSC and HSC 2026 must:

  • Follow prescribed schedules for practicals, written exams and viva assessments.
  • Carry valid admit cards and ID proofs to the centres on the specified dates.
  • Comply with all exam rules such as the prohibition of gadgets and strict seating arrangements.
  • Stay updated through the official MSBSHSE portal for any further notifications or changes.

Adherence to these strict board guidelines will help ensure a disciplined and fair testing environment for all candidates participating in the Maharashtra Board exams 2026.

Next Steps After Exams

Once written exams conclude in March 2026, the board will begin the answer-sheet evaluation process, followed by result declaration and certificate distribution later in mid-2026. Students are advised to keep their documents and admit cards secure for future verification needs
