Maharashtra B.Pharm Admissions 2025, Deadline Extended Again

Maharashtra B.Pharm admission process continues to face uncertainty as the application deadline has been extended once again. CET Cell has pushed the registration deadline for B.Pharm admissions to August 19, 2025, after previously setting it for August 12, 2025. With multiple extensions already announced, students are increasingly anxious about the start of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) and subsequent seat allotment rounds.

This marks the third time the deadline has been extended, even as aspirants of other technical courses, such as engineering and architecture, have already progressed to the second or third rounds of counselling. For B.Pharm, however, the process remains stuck at the registration stage.

Why Maharashtra B.Pharm Admissions Remain Delayed?

The delay is primarily due to the ongoing approval process for new pharmacy colleges in Maharashtra. Officials have been holding off on the CAP schedule to incorporate these new institutions into the seat matrix. While this is aimed at expanding opportunities, students argue that such approvals should not delay the admission process for existing seats.

One frustrated aspirant pointed out that new colleges usually attract fewer students, making the wait unnecessary. The repeated delays, candidates say, have created fear of academic loss as the academic calendar gets pushed further.

Maharashtra B.Pharm Concerns From Colleges and Experts

Colleges, too, are unsettled by the very long wait. They fear that the uncertainty could prompt students to consider private universities, which are not bound by CAP rules and have already begun their admission cycles. This could leave government and affiliated colleges with numerous vacant seats.

Prof. Milind Umekar, National President of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), highlighted that Maharashtra already has a surplus of pharmacy colleges. “Excessive delays in the CAP have previously forced students to drop B.Pharm admissions. Last year, admissions continued until late December, disrupting the academic session,” he said.

A senior principal added that the state CET Cell’s decision to keep waiting for new colleges only worsens the situation. “The government should declare a cut-off date. Only colleges approved till that date should be included in this cycle, and the rest in the next,” he suggested.

What Lies Ahead for Maharashtra B.Pharm?

The CET Cell is yet to release the B.Pharm CAP schedule, leaving thousands of aspirants uncertain about when seat allotments will begin. The constant extensions are also raising questions about whether the academic session will face another significant delay, as seen in previous years.

Until the final list of participating colleges and the CAP timetable is announced, both students and colleges will remain on edge, fearing another prolonged admission cycle.
