The Maharashtra State Board has extended the deadline for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) students to submit art proposals in classical art, painting, and folk art till 18 February 2026. The decision follows delays in the declaration of drawing exam results. Schools must submit proposals to divisional boards by the revised date.

Maharashtra Board Extends Deadline for SSC Art Proposals Till February 18

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has issued an official notice extending the deadline for SSC students to submit their art proposals for classical art, painting, and folk art to their schools and subsequently to the divisional boards. This change comes amid delays in the evaluation cycle for the Government Drawing Examination (Elementary and Intermediate Grade) 2025, the board said, prompting approval for additional time so that eligible students are not disadvantaged.

Revised Art Proposal Deadline and Submission Guidelines

Earlier, SSC students were required to submit their art proposals to their respective schools by 15 December 2025, with schools then forwarding them to divisional boards by 15 January 2026. However, due to the late declaration of drawing exam results in late January 2026, and a government proposal seeking relief for students, the board has adjusted the schedule.

Under the revised timeline:

  • New Deadline for Schools to Forward Proposals: 18 February 2026
  • Applicable Students: SSC candidates submitting proposals in classical art, painting, and folk art categories.
  • Board Action: All divisional boards have been instructed to inform affiliated schools of the new deadline and ensure wide publicity to reach eligible students.

This extension aims to ensure that students who participate in these artistic fields and may receive additional concessional marks do not lose their opportunity due to procedural delays.

Maharashtra SSC Exam Schedule and Related Notices

The MSBSHSE SSC Class 10 board exam 2026 is scheduled between 20 February and 18 March 2026, with practical exams and viva assessments running from early February. This revised art proposal deadline aligns closely with the final stages of board exam preparations at schools across the state. Other recent board updates include exam date announcements and infrastructure measures ahead of the upcoming SSC and HSC examinations.
