MAH BEd CET 2026 eligibility criteria have been officially released by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. The entrance exam is conducted for admission to the two-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) programme. Eligible candidates can secure admission in government, aided, unaided, and minority BEd colleges across Maharashtra.
The eligibility rules cover nationality, educational qualification, subject background, and candidature status. Candidates must fulfil all prescribed conditions to be considered eligible for MAH BEd CET 2026.
MAH BEd CET 2026 Nationality Requirement
As per the official notification, nationality is the primary condition for eligibility.
- Applicants must be Indian citizens
- NRI, OCI, PIO, and Foreign National candidates are exempted from CET
- These candidates can apply only through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP)
Educational Qualification for Maharashtra State Candidates
Candidates applying under Maharashtra State Candidature must hold a recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. The minimum qualifying marks depend on the degree stream and category. Before checking the details, candidates should note that different streams have different minimum marks criteria.

Eligible Subject Streams for MAH BEd CET 2026
Candidates must have studied at least one recognised subject at the UG or PG level. The approved subject streams include:
- Science and Mathematics
- Social Sciences
- Humanities and Languages
- Commerce
- Engineering and Technology
- Management, Computer Science, IT, Law, Agriculture
- Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Medical Sciences, Banking and Insurance
Maharashtra State Candidature Categories
Applicants claiming Maharashtra quota must fall under one of the official candidature types.

Eligibility for OMS and All India Candidates
Candidates from outside Maharashtra are treated as OMS or All India candidates.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree of minimum three years
- Degree recognised by UGC or AIU
- Minimum 55% marks for all categories
- OMS candidates can apply only under Open Category
Eligibility for Final-Year Appearing Candidates
Candidates appearing in the final year of graduation or post-graduation are provisionally eligible. Admission will be confirmed only after submission of final mark sheets and degree certificates.
ELCT Requirement for English Medium Colleges
Candidates seeking admission to English Medium BEd colleges must appear for the English Language Content Test (ELCT). The ELCT option must be selected during application. Requests after form submission are not accepted.
MAH BEd CET 2026 Age Limit and Reservation Rules
There is no upper age limit for MAH BEd CET 2026. Reserved category candidates from Maharashtra must submit valid caste, validity, non-creamy layer, or EWS certificates. Without valid documents, candidates must apply under the Open Category. The MAH BEd CET 2026 registration process will continue till January 23. Candidates are advised to check eligibility carefully before applying.
