Madhya Pradesh will introduce a single UPSC-style entrance exam to streamline state job recruitment and fill over 20,000 police vacancies within three years.
The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to introduce a single entrance exam for all state-level job recruitments to streamline the employment process. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav during a recent ceremony.
The new system will be modeled after the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which conducts nationwide examinations for recruiting candidates to All India Services and Central Civil Services. At present, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) holds multiple competitive exams for various departments, often leading to delays in recruitment.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that the new unified exam aims to simplify and accelerate recruitment, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the selection process.
He also highlighted that the government plans to fill over 20,000 police vacancies within the next three years. Additionally, a retired senior officer will head a commission to address pay anomalies and grade pay revisions across departments. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of ensuring timely promotions for government employees and officers.
