The Kerala SSLC syllabus for 2027 will be reduced by 25 per cent, the Kerala Education Minister, V Sivankutty, has announced, in response to students’ concerns about heavy academic workload. The decision, set to take effect from the next academic year, has been approved by the curriculum committee and will be reflected in textbooks published for 2027.

Reason Behind the Syllabus Reduction

According to the minister, the move to reduce the overall volume of the Class 10 syllabus was prompted by frequent complaints from students about the intensity of the current academic load.
