Kerala’s Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) has introduced a new QR code-based mobile application to track the 2026 Higher Secondary board examinations in real time. The initiative aims to enhance exam security, transparency and accountability throughout the assessment process.
DHSE QR Code App Enhances Monitoring for Higher Secondary Exam 2026
The newly launched mobile application, known as KITE-QTrack, has been developed by the Kerala State Information Technology wing (KITE) to strengthen the conduct of the Higher Secondary Examination beginning 5 March 2026.
Key features of the app include:
- QR code scanning at each critical stage of the exam process
- Real-time status updates from question paper opening to answer script dispatch
- Immediate error flagging and incident logging if an incorrect subject packet is scanned
- Input of dispatch details such as track ID, weight and time for answer scripts
- Online reporting of malpractice or technical issues during exams
Officials are expected to use designated app functions on exam days to update the examination status at every step, ensuring timely and accurate recording of exam activities.
Installation and Usage Instructions for Officials
The DHSE’s Higher Secondary Examination wing has directed all Chief and Deputy Chief Superintendents to install the app from the Android Play Store and complete login procedures before 4 March 2026. Each participating official will be required to:
- Scan QR codes when question paper packets are retrieved from secure storage
- Log exam start and end times within prescribed intervals
- Enter details when answer scripts are dispatched to valuation camps
- Report unusual incidents or technical glitches through the app interface
Regional Deputy Directors have also been given dedicated logins to monitor the system at the state level.
Broader Digital Reforms in Kerala’s Exam System
According to KITE CEO K Anvar Sadath, the QR code-based system is part of a wider strategy to fully digitise the DHSE examination lifecycle. Post-exam services such as duplicate certificates, revaluation, scrutiny applications and secure online payments are expected to be integrated soon into a revamped digital portal. Training for district-level officials on using the new app will begin ahead of the exam period, supported by guides and video tutorials available on the KITE VICTERS YouTube channel.
