Karnataka SSLC Preparatory Exam Timing Revised to 10:30 AM, Check Details

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has revised the timing for the ongoing SSLC preparatory examinations for Class 10 students. The preparatory test, which was earlier scheduled to begin at 11:00 am, will now start at 10:30 am across the state.

New Timing and Reporting Instructions

Students appearing for the preparatory exams have been advised to reach their respective schools by 9:00 am to complete all pre-exam formalities, including attendance and seating arrangements.

• Revised preparatory exam start time: 10:30 am
• Student reporting time: 9:00 am
• Exam shift: Second preparatory exam for 2026
• Scheduled exam period: January 27 to February 2, 2026 (as per the preparatory timetable)

The decision to revise the starting time comes amid ongoing adjustments to exam logistics and aims to make the schedule more convenient for students and administrators alike.

Why Was Timing Changed?

State education authorities have indicated that the change from 11:00 am to 10:30 am will help avoid late-morning rush conditions and ensure a smoother conduct of exams throughout the preparatory period. Students and parents are advised to follow the updated schedule and reach the schools well before the reporting time to avoid last-minute delays or disruptions.

About SSLC Preparatory Exams

These exams also allow students to acclimate to the question patterns and exam atmosphere ahead of the main SSLC examinations. Preparatory tests are usually conducted in multiple phases and are aimed at improving student confidence and performance in the final board assessments.
