IIT Cutoff Ranks Released as the Joint Seat Allocation Authority has activated the counselling allotment result for engineering aspirants. Candidates who participated in the counselling process can now check their allotted institute and branch online using their login credentials.

The authority has also published the JoSAA 2026 opening and closing ranks for participating institutes, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The allotment has been prepared based on candidates’ JEE Main or JEE Advanced rank, category, and choices filled during counselling.

• At IIT Bombay, the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch remained highly competitive. The open gender-neutral category closing rank moved slightly from 66 in 2025 to 65 in 2026, while the opening rank stayed at 1.
• For IIT Delhi CSE, the closing rank changed marginally from 125 in 2025 to 123 in 2026. The opening rank also shifted from 24 to 35, showing slight movement in admission competition.
• Meanwhile, IIT Madras CSE saw increased competition this year, with the closing rank improving to 149 in 2026, compared to 171 in 2025.
• At IIT Kharagpur, the CSE branch recorded a broader closing rank range, moving from 450 in 2025 to 509 in 2026, while the opening rank changed from 238 to 217.
• Among newer IITs, IIT Bhubaneswar CSE recorded an opening rank of 3022 and a closing rank of 4582 for the open gender-neutral category. In Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), the branch closed at 5807, with an opening rank of 3866.
