The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) is set to close registration for the JKCET 2026 Round 3 (Mop-Up) counselling on July 5, 2026, giving candidates a final window to secure BE/BTech seats. The round follows the Round 2 seat allotment announced on June 23, 2026. Candidates must complete choice locking and fee payment before the deadline to remain eligible for seat allotment.
JKCET 2026 Round 3 (Mop-Up) counselling registration will close on July 5, 2026, as per the schedule issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE). This round is meant for candidates who could not secure a seat in the earlier rounds of the Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test counselling process. Candidates are advised to complete their preference locking and fee payment before the deadline lapses.
JKCET 2026 Counselling Background and Round 2 Status
JKBOPEE conducts the JKCET counselling for admission to BE/BTech engineering courses offered by government and private institutes across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. JKCET 2026 Round 2 seat allotment was declared on June 23, 2026, and candidates allotted seats in that round were required to report to their respective institutes by June 25, 2026. Since some seats remained vacant after Round 2, the board is now conducting the Round 3 (Mop-Up) round to fill the remaining vacancies before institutes begin their academic sessions. This year, a total of 2,655 seats are available across participating engineering colleges for BE/BTech admissions. The JKCET 2026 exam was conducted on April 19, 2026, in offline mode, followed by the release of the provisional answer key on April 20, 2026, and the final result on May 7, 2026. Candidates who qualified the exam were subsequently invited to register for the multi-round online counselling process.
Documents Required for JKCET Counselling Reporting
Candidates allotted a seat through the Mop-Up round will need to report to their respective institutes with the following documents for verification:
- JKCET 2026 admit card and scorecard
- Domicile certificate of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh (or ST certificate, where applicable)
- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and certificates
- Category certificate, if claiming reservation benefits
- Recent passport-size photographs and a valid photo ID proof
Institutes will verify these documents physically before confirming admission. Candidates who fail to report within the stipulated time frame after allotment risk forfeiting their seat.
What Happens After the Mop-Up Round?
If seats remain vacant even after the Round 3 (Mop-Up) round concludes, JKBOPEE may notify a special or stray round of counselling to fill any remaining vacancies in government and private engineering colleges. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official JKBOPEE website regularly for updates on seat matrices, allotment results, and further counselling notifications, since no separate communication is sent by post. Candidates should note that the reporting timeline for Round 3 allottees will be notified separately once the seat allotment result for this round is published. Since availability of seats and cutoff ranks vary significantly by category and institute, aspirants are encouraged to review their options carefully before locking their final preferences ahead of the July 5, 2026 deadline.
