JK SET 2026 Registration Ends Today: Apply, Exam Date & Pattern

The JK SET 2026 registration deadline with a late fee is today, August 25, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the University of Kashmir's official SET portal.

The Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test (JK SET) 2026 will be conducted offline on October 25, 2026. The exam will be held across 41 subjects, with two papers covering teaching and research aptitude and the candidate's chosen postgraduate subject.

JK SET 2026 Eligibility

Candidates must meet the prescribed educational qualification to appear for the examination.

• Candidates must have a Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification from a UGC-recognised university.
• General category candidates need at least 55% aggregate marks.
• SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD candidates need at least 50% marks.
• Candidates must select the subject they studied at the postgraduate level.
• Final-year Master's students awaiting results can also apply, subject to the prescribed conditions.
• There is no upper age limit for appearing in JK SET 2026.
• Candidates from any part of India can apply.

Qualification through JK SET enables candidates to meet the eligibility requirement for Assistant Professor positions in J&K and Ladakh, subject to the applicable recruitment rules.

JK SET 2026 Exam Pattern

The examination will be conducted in offline OMR mode. Candidates will appear for two papers with a 30-minute break between them.

Each correct answer carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Candidates applying during the extended late-fee period must pay the applicable fee based on their category.
