JEE Mains Registration 2026: Session 1 Application to Begin in October

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to begin the JEE Mains Registration 2026 for Session 1in October 2025. Candidates aspiring for admission in Undergraduate Engineering, Architecture, and Planning programs can apply through the official NTA JEE portal — jeemain.nta.nic.in.

 

The registration process is a prerequisite for appearing in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2026, which serves as the gateway for admissions to NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and various state-funded or recognized institutions.

 

JEE Mains 2026 Exam Dates

The JEE Mains 2026 will be conducted in two sessions, with specific dates announced by NTA:

January 21 – 30, 2026

Session 2

April 1 – 10, 2026

Candidates can choose to appear in either one or both sessions. The best score among the sessions will be considered for admissions and eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026.

 

JEE Mains 2026 Exam Papers

The JEE Mains 2026 will comprise two papers, catering to different programs:

Paper

Paper 1

B.E. / B.Tech. programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other participating institutions. Also serves as eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026.

Paper 2

B.Arch and B.Planning programs across India.

Candidates must ensure they register for the correct paper based on their preferred course.

 

How to Apply for JEE Mains 2026?

  1. Visit the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  2. Wait for the Session 1 registration link to be activated in October 2025.
  3. Complete registration by providing personal details, academic information, and contact details.
  4. Upload required photograph, signature, and other documents in the specified format.
  5. Pay the application fee online via debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
  6. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.

 

Important Points About JEE Mains 2026

  • Appearing in Paper 1 is mandatory for eligibility to JEE Advanced 2026.
  • Paper 2 is required for admissions to B.Arch and B.Planning programs.
