The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam timing has been officially announced by the National Testing Agency. The exam will be held from April 2 to April 8, 2026 in two shifts daily. Along with timings, NTA has also released strict reporting time and gate closing rules that candidates must follow.

The JEE Main 2026 April session timing confirms that the exam will be conducted in two shifts per day for Paper 1.

The exam duration remains fixed at three hours, and candidates will not get extra time except eligible PwD candidates.

 

JEE Main 2026 Paper-Wise Timing: Check BTech, BArch & BPlan Schedule

 

Paper 1 (BE/BTech)

  • Morning: 09:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
  • Afternoon: 03:00 PM – 06:00 PM

 

Paper 2A (BArch)

  • Single shift: 09:00 AM – 12:00 Noon

 

Paper 2B (BPlan)

  • Single shift: 09:00 AM – 12:00 Noon

 

Paper 2A + 2B Combined

  • 09:00 AM – 12:30 PM

 

JEE Main 2026 Reporting Time: Late Entry = No Exam

The reporting time rules are strict. Entry gates will close before the exam begins.

Candidates reaching after gate closing will not be allowed inside, under any condition.

 

JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Timeline: What Happens Before Exam Starts?

Before the exam begins, candidates must complete:

  • Security frisking
  • Biometric verification
  • Admit card and ID check
  • Seating and login instructions

This process takes one to one-and-a-half hours, so early arrival is necessary.

 

JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Guidelines: Must Follow Rules

Candidates appearing for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 must follow these instructions:

  • Carry admit card with self-declaration
  • Bring valid photo ID proof
  • Reach centre before gate closing
  • Avoid restricted items (electronics, notes, bags)
  • Follow dress code strictly

For BArch candidates, geometry box and pencils are allowed, while gadgets are banned.
