JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam has started from 2 April 2026 across the country. The National Testing Agency is conducting the exam till 8 April 2026 at multiple centres. Candidates appearing for the exam must strictly follow reporting timings and guidelines to avoid disqualification.

 

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam Timings and Schedule

The exam is being conducted in two shifts each day. Candidates must report on time, as late entry is not allowed under any circumstances. The detailed shift schedule is given below:

 

Morning Shift:

  • Reporting Time: 7:00 AM
  • Entry Process: 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM
  • Gate Closing Time: 8:30 AM sharp
  • Instructions: 8:30 AM to 8:50 AM
  • Login Time: 8:50 AM
  • Exam Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

Afternoon Shift:

  • Reporting Time: 1:00 PM
  • Entry Process: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
  • Gate Closing Time: 2:30 PM sharp
  • Instructions: 2:30 PM to 2:50 PM
  • Login Time: 2:50 PM
  • Exam Time: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

 

JEE Main 2026 Dress Code Guidelines

Candidates must follow the prescribed dress code to ensure smooth security checks at the exam centres. Non-compliance may lead to delays or denial of entry. The dress code guidelines are as follows:

  • Wear light and comfortable clothes
  • Use slippers or sandals with low heels
  • Avoid clothes with metal parts or large buttons
  • Do not wear jackets, hoodies, or heavy outfits
  • Avoid shoes with thick soles and accessories

 

JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Instructions and Rules

Candidates must follow all exam day instructions carefully to ensure a smooth experience at the test centre. The important guidelines include:

  • Carry the JEE Main admit card and valid ID proof
  • Bring a passport-size photograph
  • Do not carry electronic devices such as mobile phones or smartwatches
  • Follow instructions given by invigilators
  • Maintain discipline inside the examination hall
