The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Shift 2 examination has commenced today as scheduled by NTA. Candidates are appearing for the BE/BTech paper under strict exam-day protocols. Subject-wise expected topics and guidelines are provided here.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully begun the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Shift 2 examination today. The afternoon shift for the BE/BTech paper started at 3:00 PM and will conclude at 6:00 PM at examination centres across the country. Candidates were allowed entry only after completing mandatory biometric verification, frisking, and document checks, as per NTA’s standard operating procedures.

 

JEE Main 2026 Shift 2 Exam Timing

  • Reporting Time: 1:00 PM
  • Entry Window: 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM
  • Gate Closing Time: 2:30 PM
  • Candidate Login: 2:50 PM
  • Exam Start Time: 3:00 PM
  • Exam End Time: 6:00 PM

Late entry was strictly prohibited once the gates closed.

 

JEE Main 2026 Shift 2: Expected Topics (Based on Previous Shifts)

Based on analysis of earlier shifts in Session 1, candidates can expect questions from the following areas:

JEE Main 2026 Shift 2 Exam-Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing in the Shift 2 exam were instructed to strictly follow these guidelines:

  • Carry a printed copy of the JEE Main 2026 admit card
  • Bring a valid government-issued photo ID
  • Ensure Aadhaar biometrics are unlocked
  • Wear light clothing without large buttons
  • Shoes with thick soles are not permitted
  • Carry only a transparent pen and water bottle
  • Electronic devices and prohibited items are not allowed

 

What to Expect After Shift 2 Exam Ends?

Once the Shift 2 exam concludes at 6:00 PM, the following updates will be released:

  • Student reactions and first impressions
  • Subject-wise paper analysis
  • Difficulty level assessment
  • Memory-based questions
  • Unofficial answer keys by coaching institutes

A combined analysis of Shift 1 and Shift 2 will help candidates assess the overall difficulty level of Day’s paper.
